Membership

what it means

From the beginning, following Jesus was always about creating a new kind of community.  To the fishermen on the sea of Galilee, to the tax collector in his booth, to the women dismissed for their gender, Jesus said, "Follow me."  This collection of misfits, sinners and outcasts became what Jesus called "the kingdom of heaven."  It was his mission, his purpose, and his post-resurrection legacy.

Today, we have the privilege of carrying forward the mission he entrusted to the apostles, to live out that new way of life, marked by compassion, justice, hope, and promise.  It's a daunting task, and we struggle at it all the time.  We don't have all the answers, and we haven't figured it all out.  But we press on toward the goal.  Membership means that you choose to press on with us, trusting that, together, we can become that same new community that Jesus lived and died and lived to create.    (Yeah.  It's a big deal.)

How to Join

Membership at Covenant is simple and involves just three steps.

First, we invite you to attend Covenant 101, our new members class which we offer every other month.  This class is always on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m., includes lunch and childcare, and is a wonderful introduction to our family.

Second, you meet with our Session and affirm your answers to the following three questions:

Is Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior?

Do you renounce sin in your life and in the world?

Will you commit to grow in your relationship with Jesus through this family of faith?

Third, we welcome you in worship.  If you've not already been baptized, we baptize you at this time - a special honor for us.  If you've been baptized before, we simply introduce you to the congregation and celebrate your presence with us.

If you are interested in learning more about this process, or want to register for a class, please contact Jim Gates at jim@covenantcommunitypc.org.

Guest Surveys

If you have recently attended CCPC for the first or second time, we are very interested in your opinions of the church, and any feedback you might be able to offer.  Please take a moment to fill out the relevant survey below so that we can become better at welcoming folks like you!
