Session Meeting From April 15, 2019

Rolls and Registers:  Current membership stands at 555.
Added Caitlin Kyle, Shane and Roxie Denzine on April 14th

Treasure’s Report: The month of March was a good month financially.  The generosity of this congregation continues to amaze.  Even with a larger than expected snow plowing expense, our total revenue for March was almost $20K over last year, and we have a YTD budget surplus of $14K compared to a budget shortfall last year.  Our mortgage balance now stands at just over $270K.

Pastor’s report: We are so pleased that Dan Frost has accepted our offer to fill the position of Director of Youth and Young Adults.  Dan and his family will be moving to the area after his daughter’s graduation from High School and will begin his duties on July 1th.

Three Ruling Elders were commissioned to attend the Winnebago Presbytery Meeting on May 18th to be held in Green Bay.  If any other currently serving Elder or previously ordained Elder would like to attend, please let Pastor Jim know as soon as possible.

Examinations of Luke Coenen (Elder Candidate) and Tom Damen (Deacon Candidate) were sustained and they will both be ordained in the coming weeks.

Confirmation Sunday is April 28th . Elders will meet with the Confirmands for Breakfast followed by an examination of each student.  A Session Meeting to Approve these and other new members will be held that same day.

Chad, Alayna and Keanna Bleibaum will be Baptized by Immersion following worship on April 28th. at Bethany Baptist Church.  Everyone is encouraged to attend this Sacrament and support this family in their public expression of their faith and salvation though our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Motion: Motions were made and carried to re-elect Dan Luessenhop as Treasurer and to re-elect Bob Warner as Clerk of Session for another one year term.

Deacons:  The reveal party for Secret Agents was well received and feedback collected is being incorporated in plans for next year’s program.  Our next Food & Fellowship for the Soul will be May 22nd.  See Barb Smejkal if you are available to help.

All other Committees:  The C.E. Committee reported that more volunteers are needed to assist with Eggstravaganga on Saturday April 20th.  The Worship and Fellowship Committee reported on the results of the Second Service Survey and are exploring ways to reach more members to complete the survey.  With all the activities and changes currently underway, it’s likely that the second service will not be added to the church calendar this year.

The next Parents Night Out is scheduled for May 17th.  A new sign up sheet will be in the Welcome Center.

After prayers for the people, the meeting was adjourned at 8:40
