Working with Children and Youth

Teaching our children about Jesus is one of our most sacred duties as a church.  It's also one of the most fun!  If you have a heart for children or students, we would love to talk to you about getting involved with our ministries.

OUR CHILDREN’S MINISTRY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:

Institute of discipleship (i.d.)Teachers & Helpers

9 a.m. on Sundays: Commit to serving 2 times per month from September - May. We provide a lesson guide for the teacher to plan, prepare, and gather supplies for activities or crafts. Helper’s main role is building relationships, encouraging participation, and reminding kids of the expectations in the classroom. More about Kid’s I.D.

Nursery Volunteers

Sundays at 9 a.m. & 10 a.m., Wednesdays 6 p.m.: Committed to 1-2 times per month or seasonally helping during L.I.F.E. on Wednesdays. We ask our nursery volunteers to encourage mom and dad to participate in worship. We are blessed and honored to spend a little time with your little one.

Kids Worship Leaders & Helpers

10 a.m. on Sundays: Commit to once a month Sept - May and 2 times over the summer. We provide a lesson guide. The leader and helper will team up to prepare and plan, gather supplies for activities/crafts. Both leaders and helpers will tag team throughout the morning activities, with each taking a turn leading or encouraging kids to participate.

L.I.F.E. Leaders

Wednesday Nights 6 p.m.: L.I.F.E. leaders commit to leading a 6-week session in the fall, winter, or spring. We are looking for leaders for Preschool (3's and 4's), Early Elementary (K-2nd), and upper elementary(3rd-5th grades). More about L.I.F.E.

Special Events

We ask for additional help with our community events throughout the year. Eggstravaganza, Children's Christmas Play and Vacation Bible School need an influx of help to ensure these events run smoothly.

YOUTH MINISTRY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:

wednesday night small group leaders

Wednesdays 6 p.m.-8 p.m.: Our small group leaders will help facilitate conversation around the evening’s message and lead games or activities. Learn more about our “Salt & Light” Youth Group experience.

Youth fellowship events happen throughout the year, including our annual Tailgate Party, Lock-In, Mystery Night, and other amazing memories to be made!

QUALIFICATIONS:

All our volunteers with our children and youth must meet the following qualifications. 

  • Be a member of CCPC.

  • Be involved for 6 months.

  • Interview with a leader of ministry.

  • Complete all volunteer paperwork.

  • Consent to and pass a background check.

  • All volunteers are approved through the Christian Education Committee and Session.
