About this study
Many Christians struggle with the Old Testament and how to understand and apply it to their lives. For others, there may be a sense that it’s not as relevant now that we have Jesus. But God’s intent was that this 2000-year period of preparation would be essential to recognizing and following the Messiah when He came.
Covenant Community Presbyterian Church is excited to present this “P.R.O.M.I.S.E.S” study, which is designed so that you can come to read and understand the Bible of Jesus in a comprehensive, yet intimate way.
“P.R.O.M.I.S.E.S” stands for: Prehistory, Roaming, Old Covenant, Monarchs, Israel, Southern Kingdom, Exile, and Sent Home. Through that outline, we hope to give you a sense of how the stories that Jesus read as a child shaped his life, and should shape every follower of his.
Along with each video, you will find study guides that will help facilitate discussions and/or broaden your personal understanding of the video material. We also have a FULL resource booklet (see button below) that includes all of the lesson study guides, maps, a full Old Testament timeline, and puzzles to expand on your knowledge.
