PRA•X•IS: THE EXPERIMENT

September, 2018 - June, 2019

We invite you to commit to five spiritual practices using specific tools over the course of a year, and to evaluate how those practices affect the spiritual journey. If we commit to these practices, our relationships with Jesus Christ and with one another will be radically and eternally transformed.

ORDINARY RADICAL PRACTICES

After exploring our five core spiritual practices, we will reflect on some additional spiritual disciplines that didn’t fit into our PRA•X•IS acronym.

ADD TO THE COMMUNITY

This sermon series looks at the practice of adding to the community of Christ. Evangelism is the practice of sharing the love, grace and forgiveness we have experienced through our Lord Jesus Christ.

PRAY FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD

The first practice of the experiment is that of engaging in communion with God. What does it look like, sound like, and why do we do it? This series expands on our current knowledge of prayer, looks at how it can be refocused, and also lays out a challenge to all believers in Christ.

HYPOTHESIS & METHODOLOGY

An Overview of the five practices this year, contained within the acronym PRA•X•IS:

Pray for the entire world, Read through the entire Word, Add to the community, X is not a practice but a reminder (The Greek letter Chi, or X, represents Christ. These practices are only meaningful if Jesus is at the center of each of them), Invest in the Kingdom, and Send yourself to the nations.
